Dear Uwe,
I have succeeded in timeout shutting down by adding a CLEAR GETS and DEACTIVATE WINDOW and RELEASE WINDOW on the window I use inserted into Vfxctrlbase.vcx - capplicationtimerbase.timer thank you.
Also can now vary the time to shutdown.
